Q: What do you recommend for cleaning wide format solvent printer caps and printheads?

A: In the September/October 2016 SGIA Journal article written by Bob Flipse, President, GrafxNetwork titled “Wide-Format Printer Maintenance: Prepare, Prevent, Prevail”, Bob said “not Q-Tips!”.

Berkshire agrees. 100% cotton tipped swabs will leave behind fibers that could adversely impact the seal. Also, certain cotton swab handles may react poorly with solvents.
